There is a URL length limitation for the scheduled downloads in the web scheduler utility of DNS-323 ("The URL length must be 1-120 characters!", I see this in a javascript or I get this error message If I try to schedule a URL>120 chars). Can I solve this problem with a direct http POST? Or is there any limitation for the URL length in the DNS-323 hardware?
E.g. I'd like to download a similar link: http://username:password@rsxx.rapidshare.com/files/123456/dl/movie-1080p-title-actors-etc.part001.rar (>>120 chars)

i say go ahead and try to skip the javascript check. i took a quick look at goahead webs source code regarding downloads, seems like link can be 512 chars with no problems..
do you use username and password from the form on the download schedule page?

OK, I will try to skip javascript checking. Username and password are my rapidshare account data so these are constants. Thank you for your help, it seems there is no software limitation.

Dear All, the problem is completely solved
I made a http post with the url to NAS and everything was OK. It is interesting because goahead webs server supports more length link only the NAS configuration utility doesn't work for this. It seems a bug or an not understable limitation.
Especially thanks to SilentException.
I've tried tinyurl service but I don't want to share my rapidshare premium account data.

glad i could help a bit
here is some more, but maybe you figured it out already
if you'd like to make this change persistent modify the file download_scheduling.asp from /sys/crfs/web_page/user (replace 120 limit check with 512), copy this file to your HD or USB and copy it back on every boot using fun_plug. that way you won't have to mess with the http headers every time but be able to input long url directly into the download interface..
