Completely dead DNS-323. Any ideas?

I'm guessing my DNS-323 may be completely bricked, though I do not know why this would have happened. The trouble started last night, when a data backup to the unit from my computer stopped with a write error. I noticed that the unit's lights were not flashing, but steady, and that attempts to access it through the Web interface failed. The front Power button failed to turn it off. So I unplugged the power supply, waited ten seconds, then plugged it back in. Disk drives (two Samsung 500 gigs) spun up, unit main light started flashing, as it does doing a disk check. This took quite some time, so I went to bed. When I got up in the morning, the light was still flashing and the disks still spinning, no response to the Web interface. Again I unplugged it from the power supply and allowed it to cool, since the disks were quite hot. Now all I get when trying to plug the unit in is the middle light (the Ethernet connection) comes on. The disks do not spin up, and it does not respond to the Web interface. I have tried resetting it (both short and long presses of the back button), and gotten no response. Guess I just need to return it, or are there any ideas? Thanks.

Try booting it up without the network cable plugged in.  A few people recently have had network issues that have prevented the DNS from fully booting.  There also have been some people who have had power supplies go bad, leaving the DNS without enough power to properly boot.

Unfortunately, I already tried that. No difference. I think it's shuffled off this mortal coil and joined the bleedin' choir invisible.
