I honestly do not know if this question has been raised before on this forum, there are just too many sujects to comb through. So please point me in the right direction if it has been addressed and you know about it.
I get the following hard drive info (below) when looking at the status of a DNS323. The firm ware version is :1.05 The question is the following "Sync Time Remaining: Degraded" what exactly does this mean, and is it good, bad or ugly. Should it, can it, be retified and if so HOW?
Both the drives seems to be OK - the blue lights are on. How do I know both drives are OK?
Thanks

In the upper right corner, you'll find the "Search" button - a search using the keywords "sync time remaining degraded" takes just a few seconds and returned nine (9) hits.
Sync Time Remaining:Degraded indicates that for some reason your DNS-323 thinks it's RAID1 array is degraded (no longer synchronized) - and no, it's not good - can it be rectified, yes - how, go read the threads.

Thanks, got the posts
I will get around to more Linux one day.
Will it be unfair to say that the product of the shelf should handle this occurance? and maybe more verbose about it? I dont know. I just need the thing to work............... and by the looks of things it is not???
Thanks again, very interesting reading!

I agree - off the shelf the product should have the ability to deal with it, this is possibly the achilles heel of the unit, and I believe it is being addressed by DLink.
