"uptime" values incorrect: counting from epoch time?

When I execute the uptime command, I always get a bogus value:

root@turtle:~# uptime
 14:55:02 up 14182 days, 21:55, load average: 0.15, 0.09, 0.06

And if you want to do the math, today minus 14182 days is exactly Jan 1st, 1970.

Is this a limitation of /ffp/bin/uptime?

I think a few people have noted this in the past, just curious if it was the same for everyone.

Yep. Same here.  I noticed this just a few days ago when I first tried the ffp uptime.

Sorry, I did a search, but among the many the search results I didn't notice that thread.

Also, I'd seen others commenting about it recently, so I figured I wasn't the only one who was wondering about it.
