Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

I use my DNS-323 for streaming of movies to a Pinnacle Showcenter 200 working as mediaplayer via a wired LAN. The Showcenter and the NAS have already the newest firmware installed.
Unfortunately the Showcenter does not show me all the movie titels, stored on the HDDs of the NAS, it shows me only the first 30 titels.
What to do?
By the way, does somebody know which port the UPNP AV-Server uses for streaming of media?
Thanks for your response!

I have the same issue on the DNS-343, only the first 30 titles are displayed.
various threads have the said the onboard UPnP AV server is broken, but no more info than 'its broken'
anyone have any more info about it?

Not really. Most people have accepted that it is broken and installed a better server via fun_plug.

I found the mistake:
After updating the firmware of my Pinnacle Showcenter 200 to latest version 21-81 Beta (it is still a Beta!!!) the problem is solved!!!

I've read that the server is working correctly by only sending 20-30 items. It is trying to avoid flooding your network with traffic for the case that a list is very long.
According to the UPnP specification the client (Kiss 1600, Reciva, or Pinnacle or whatever) should recognise the short list and request the next chunk of the list as required.
Lucky for you that you've got new firmware for your client! I'm still waiting for my Reciva radio and Kiss 1600 to get updated, but at least it isn't hard to put an alternative "more forgiving" UPnP server on the DNS323 :-)
See down near the bottom of this thread for some more discussion:
