Has anyone tried to ues the DNS-323 with Hitachi Deskstar T7K500 (HDT725050VLA360) SATA-300 500 GB?
I have invested in two Hitachi Deskstar T7K500 and wanted to use them in a RAID 1 setup.
I am able to:
> Format the disks as standard (2 individual disks)
> Format the disks as JBOD (1 logical disk)
I'm not able to:
> Format the disks in RAID 1
> Format the disks in RAID 0
D-Link has provided nothing but rubbish advice , so I'm hoping you are able to help me...
My question is:
> Has anyone used these disks successfully?
> Have you done anything to the drives or the DNS to make the setup work?

i have Hitachi Deskstar drives. Not the same model as you tough.
I have the HDS725050KLA360, a 500 GB model as well.
worked from the beinning without any problems.

I am running similar drives with NO problems (ie HDS725050KLA360). I am running the latest firmware. I have the drives set for Raid 0. As I did not have to do anything special to get my drives to work, I don't have any suggestions other than ensure that you are on the latest firmware.
