NZBGET + FFP

Hi All,

I am trying to install and NZB onto the NAS and having no luck.

I have read that there was one from Fonz, but can't seem to find it in any of the packages.

Can someone point me in the right direction or give me advise on how to do this?

thanks

Re: NZBGET + FFP

I don't know for NZBGET but I can recommand you sabnzbd. It's quite easy to install and it works fine on the DNS-323.

To install sabnzbd, you first need optware (follow instructions on the wiki for any help). Then you just have to install the right packages for sabnzdb from the optware repository.

Re: NZBGET + FFP

Which package(s) did you install for sabnzbd ?
The right one is "sabnzbdplus".
I don't remember having problems to get it run. Only that I had to install other packages to get ssl support.

If you can't get it work, you can try to install nzbget following this tutorial :
http://www.aroundmyroom.com/2008/10/12/ … nd-nzbget/

I'm thinking of switching to this one because sabnzb seems to use a lot of RAM.

Re: NZBGET + FFP

I used the same tut as nickotar is pointing to.
It works perfectly with very low memory footprint.
I would recommend it above any other.

Also no need for optware.
(For stability sake "installing less=better") ;-)

Re: NZBGET + FFP

NZBGET runs fine on a CH3SNAS. About 6 months ago I took the optware route and installed it together withautomatic par-check&repair and unrar. I think I downloaded over 300 GB now. Only some rar files can not be extracted (produces an error, this is a known problem with unrar), so I always keep my downloaded rar files, use winrar in those cases and delete the rar-files manually. I took me a while to get everything installed and configured, but I am very happy with the result and would not like to live without this functionality!

Ok, got my brain out and dusted it off. Got it all working..
Now... Just some functions etc...

Is there a way to have it poll a folder for the nzb?

thanks

nzbget actually does this automatically. You should have configured "MAINDIR" in your nzbget.conf. If you didn't change "NzbDir" it should defaults to ${MAINDIR}/nzb.
Then you just have to create a folder named "nzb" under your MAINDIR location and you're done.

When nzbget runs as a daemon, it will check your $MAINDIR/nzb folder for new nzbs, and add them to the download queue. You can configure the polling interval to your needs with the parameter "NzbDirInterval" in the config file.
