ffp mail packages

I've added a couple of mail-related packages:

- esmtp http://esmtp.sourceforge.net/
- libesmtp http://www.stafford.uklinux.net/libesmtp/

esmtp is a user configurable relay-only Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) with a sendmail compatible syntax. It's based on libESMTP supporting the AUTH (including the CRAM-MD5 and NTLM SASL mechanisms) and the StartTLS SMTP extensions.

- procmail http://www.procmail.org/

Procmail can be used to create mail-servers, mailing lists, sort your incoming mail into separate folders/files (real convenient when subscribing to one or more mailing lists or for prioritising your mail), preprocess your mail, start any programs upon mail arrival (e.g. to generate different chimes on your workstation for different types of mail) or selectively forward certain incoming mail automatically to someone.

- mailx http://heirloom.sourceforge.net/mailx.html

Heirloom mailx (previously known as nail) is a mail user agent for Unix systems.

You might find these packages useful to mail results of cron-jobs (e.g. backup jobs), system logs, smartd output, etc.

As an example, I've attached a simple script that downloads ffp (using rsync) to your nas, and mails the ChangeLog if it changed. If you run this through cron, it will send you a mail with the latest changes in ffp, and you'll already have the new packages waiting on your disk.
(You need to set a few variables at the top, and create a /ffp/etc/esmtprc file, see http://esmtp.sourceforge.net/manual.html or 'man esmtprc' for examples)

Re: ffp mail packages

Thanks for fun plug, It is amazing that what this small box (dns-323) can do.

Do we have any mail server component ? I did some search and found that none of these can receive emails.

esmtp - http://esmtp.sourceforge.net/features.html
procmail - obvious, process incoming mails but doesn't receive emails
mailx - MUA

I am planning to run a mail server, use procmail to trigger some actions based on some conditions.

TIA
