Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.
You are not logged in.
Hi!
I have RAID1 on my DNS-323 (B1), fw1.05, fun_plug0.5 (only cleanboot, ssh with denyhosts and unfsd enabled). If I run "smartctl -d marvell -A /dev/sda" (or sdb) it shows me that the drive are fine, but in dmesg I get the following message:
program smartctl is using a deprecated SCSI ioctl, please convert it to SG_IO
Do I have to worry about this??
Thanks for any input on this!

I guess not.
it just means, that this methode will not work somewhere in the future.
mean: in a future kernel version.
it is however annoying in the logs, when you use smartctl for regular monitoring via nagios or something else

Many thanks!
I only do smartctl -A after boot from /ffp/start to see if there are reallocatet sectors - and if yes, mailx would send an alert.
Is this enough to replace the HDD in case before loss of data? Or should I run other tests too...?

it depends on how often xou reboot your nas.
if it runs 24/7 it is not enough.
I plan to write some nagios tests one of them will be a smart check. (bad sectors, temp, other stuff,..).
just give me a little time.
(you will need optware and the nrpe package and of corse perl, but that comes as a package for ffp)
