two questions to ffp 0.5

Hey there,

recently I have installed the funplug ffp_0.5 (thanks a lot to fonz) and now I am trying to find the best settings for the best performance.
Thereby I have got two questions, but I could not find any thread treating them.
1) what is the option subtree_check, no_subtree_check doing?
2) when I start the exports again, invoking exportfs -ra I will get allways a bunch of messages:
exportfs: can't open /var/lib/nfs/rmtab for reading
exportfs: could not open /var/lib/nfs/xtab for locking
exportfs: could not open /var/lib/nfs/etab for locking
exportfs: can't lock /var/lib/nfs/etab for writing
exportfs: could not open /var/lib/nfs/xtab for locking
exportfs: can't lock /var/lib/nfs/xtab for writing

These files are also in /ffp/var/lib/nfs.
How important are they? How to create?

Thanks in advance,

Joerg

Re: two questions to ffp 0.5

To start:
man nfs
man exportfs
(for nfs you will need to use another linux machine or google since the man page isn't on the machine)

Re: two questions to ffp 0.5

Hi puterboy,

thank you for the reply. I have tried man exportfs already. This man page is only on DNS323 available.
In the beginning a short explanation about some of the mentioned files above. But already some
directories are not available in /var. There is no lib, no nfs.

None of the man gages, neither nfs nor exportfs, gives me an explanation about the sub_tree issue.
