Hi: I'm running a DNS-323 with latest manufacturer firmware (1.05). I used the Easy Search Utility (4.2.0.0) on each of my two computers to map the dns to a drive letter on each machine. That part worked fine. The problem comes in when I try to create a folder AND RENAME it on the dns. I can do so fine from one machine but not the other.
Box 1 - HP Pavillion laptop running Vista Ultimate --> this is the machine than can create a folder (named "New Folder") but not rename it. I can copy & delete files no problem but can't rename files either.
Box 2 - Dell E521 desktop running Vista Home Premium. This machine can create & rename files/folders no problem.
What could the problem be with Box 1? It seems the only thing I can't do is rename files/folders from that box.
thanks,
russ

I have the same problem. I have two laptops on a home network, one is fine, the other cannot rename folder names, even when the other laptop is offline. I have reformatted the dns323 and reinstalled xp on the first laptop. the other laptop is running xp also. Any suggestions will be appreciated - thanks

I think I may have found a solution. I ran the 323 set up disk and the utility that helps map a drive. Mapped the drive to z: so it doesn't conflict with any usb drive allocation. (had a problem with this before) and it seems to be behaving itself. Fingers crossed...

Only works for a short while then reverts back to locking the folder. Any suggestions anyone?
