I am looking at buying a DNS 323 to use to serve my PS3 and a media PC. Anyways I was wondering if there was any way to store and serve up DVD rips to the PS3. Or is their another option to keep the DVD quality as well as the chapters? Is there anyway to get it to play from the Video and and audio TS folders?
Thanks

The video formats that the PS3 can play off this thing is limited ... I do know that AVI files play fine. The "raw" VOB files that make up a DVD may or may not be playable ... I haven't tested it, and I'm currently out for a week ... I can certainly check it once I get back to town.
For what its worth, I would just convert the DVD rip to AVI and play them that way. Also, don't have too many layers of directories, it seems that the PS3 is good for 5 levels of directories, upon the 6th (or more) it will not show files.

Hello,
I would advice you to go on the popcorn hour or Tvix 6500 and co. solution. I personnaly have a Tvix 6500a and it reads perfectly .Iso or .vob files. Connected to the router, you can use Samba share and FTP.
Have a good Christmas.
