Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

What is the maximum size supported for the internal harddrive?
I read something on dlink.com (http://support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?p … -G600_revA)
that it is only 250Gb, can this be true?
I now have a new fresh 400Gb, but I cannot get it to work
I am running the 1.02eu firmware (came with it).

I have a 400GB (Seagate?) hard drive in mine, and it works fine. I have a US version of the firmware though.

thanks for reply!
Wouldn't you know.. I also got a Seagate:
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 (its the new with 16mb cache)
I tried it in two other computers today, and it seems like its dead, so that explains my problems with DSM-G600.
Good to know somebody else get it to work though, then there is still hope!
Just have to get this drive replaced.

Just got my replacement drive, and this time I tested it before I put it in the box. Worked then, and worked when I set it up in the DSM.
Now I got it formatted and copied all my data over. Great!

Need suggestions on how to get my new Seagate 750gig drive to work to full capacity in my DSM-G600 rev.B
D-Link unit.
When I use the unit's software to format the drive, when it finishes, it only shows space to be a little more that 200gig.
D-Link support tells me very large hard drives will not work, even though their website use to claim unlimited size hard drive support (This claim was removed from their site a few months ago, but it was what I based my purchases on back then.)
I am a Linux novice, but do have some bootable Linux CD's, in case I need to format this drive using a standard EIDE connection from my computer and some Linux or 3rd party software.
I need a backup storage solution for home and went over budget buying the DSM-6000 and a Seagate 750gig drive. So far, this has been a disappointing purchase.
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!! to anyone that might have some suggestions on what I could do to get this to work.... Kurt

Pre-format your hard disk in your PC.
Note that the first partition must be linux-swap (512MB) and second must be ext2 or ext3 partition. Additionally you can make as much partitions (ext2; ext3; fat32; fat16; ntfs) Linux let's you to do and in DSM-G600 you can mount your additional partitions using fun_plug script.

I also have a Seagate 750 GB + 1.02eu firmware and now I'm trying to solve the hd capacity problem. Tried to change the firmware to the us version with the file downloaded from the dlink site. The update was initiated throught the web-based interface, over wifi. After a few seconds of activity, the following note appeared:
Firmware Upload Error! The uploaded file was not accepted by the DSM-G600. Please return to the previous page and select a valid upgrade file..
What seems to be the problem?

Ok, I promise, I won't make WiFi updates, but has that something to do with the fact that the unit is rejecting the firmware file?

Well i don't know i never try to make upgrade by wireless. I just flash the 1.02us and it goes like a charm.
May be the firmware downoad from dlink was incoreect try again and thre is a copy of the firmware here in the download section.

Ok, back in the office, tried to upgrade through a LAN connection. Same result - both flash files are rejected (the one from the Dlink site and the one from this site). Any ideas what to do next?
