i am trying to transfer my music to the NAS and i have some french, german named files
I cannot copy them no matter what
It keeps giving me errors : access denied

exemple : Dumas-Nébuleuse will be truncated as Nebu~ and refuses to copy same thing with other files
Im copying them with TotalCommander but i tried with Windows explorer and i got the same error
I tried to change the encoding with the search utility but its says : The unit supports Unicode

???

What am doing wrong?
Is there a way around this

PS : i am using the latest firmware which is supposed to support unicode

1 - Which firmware are you using now?
2 - Which firmware did you upgrade from?
3 - Have you reformatted the drives since the upgrade?

If I am correct Unicode was introduced with fw 1.04 and if you have not reformatted the drives after upgrading from a pre 1.04 firmware to 1.04 or later, unicode will not work

I am using 1.06
i formatted the drive once i upgraded to 1.06 coming from 1.04 and a second time, with 1.06 already installed just because i thought i did something wrong
That's two times already
I would do it the 3rd time if i knew it would fix my problem

Moving 300Gb of data back and forth is a pain

Ok

so i re-flashed the firmware 1.06 and formatted it, third time

Tried to copy few songs with french/german characters and .... it worked

I have no clue why since i've done the same process 3 times already

But well.... working now
