Dear all,
I have network consisting of one DNS-323 and three computers with the following operating systems:
1. Windows 98SE DK, FAT32
2. Windows 2000 DK, NTFS
3. Windows XP UK, NTFS
When I copy files with the Danish letters "øæå" onto the DNS-323 from Windows 98SE/Windows 2000 the letters are showed correct on the DNS-323. However when I access the DNS-323 from Windows XP the special letters are not showed correct.
If I copy files with special letters in their filename from Windows XP onto the DNS-323 they get changed into something different, for example:
æåø.doc becomes: AO~7K.DOC
Does anybody have an idea as to how to make the letters work on all versions of Windows?
My specs:
DNS-323 with 2 x 320 GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.10
RAID1 - FW1.03 - ext2 - western european type set

For WinXP
Goto Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options
Select the Advanced tab and pick your language of choice as the non-Unicode programs character set.
