Hi,
I have a WD MBW 1 TB 'toy'. I call it a toy because it literally takes days for data to transfer around on my network. I believe the user claims are that it gets roughly 3-4 MegaBytes per second.
Thanks,
Rich

On a Gbit network I get 15-19 MB/s with the DNS-323

According to Hardware.info the DNS is 2 a 3 times faster in GBIT lan.
In 100 Mbit the speed of DNS-323 is ~9000
D-Link DNS-323 DNS-323
GBIT: Read 17103 kByte/s Write 15012 kByte/s
Western Digital My Book World II 1TB WDG2NC10000E
GBIT: Read 3488 kByte/s Write 5688 kByte/s

I had the MyBook and in one word, sucks. The MyBook would be lucky to get 3 to 4MB per/sec transfer rate. I took the drives out, bought the DNS-323 and shoved the drives in there (after I wiped the drives) and now I get 50-60MB/sec transfer plus a whole lot more features. The 323 is easier to hack to if you need to. Don't buy that My Book. You'll hate it. Trust me.

You get 50-60MB/sec transfers ?! - Could you share the details of your network and how you're measuring the throughput please.
