Internet streaming video server

Hi,
I was wondering if there is software that will stream my video collection on the internet.
I am hoping to be able to hit my nas and stream any video I have there to any computer I wish.
I saw twonky and mediatomb but they seem to only stream locally??
I am hoping to get something like justin.tv going, but from my NAS, where I can hit a webpage and watch.
Thanks

Re: Internet streaming video server

Awaken Zombie question... AWAKEN!

I too would like the answer to this.  Is it possible to stream audio/video from the 323 onto an arbitrary computer on the internet?

(As you can see, I did a search already.)

Re: Internet streaming video server

Presumably, this is a routability/security issue, not a DNS-323 issue.

I would think that if you can reach your NAS from your target computer,
you would be well on your way.    Have you tried checking basic connectivity
with ping?

Re: Internet streaming video server

Actually, Twonky NAS does have a built-in web-based media streamer component, I guess intended for LAN streaming, but you should be able to just open a port on your firewall that points to that page:  http://dns323:9000/webbrowse
