Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Does replacing Volume_1 destroy the fun_plug?

Hi,

I may be sending back my 1.5TB seagate drive.  I was curious, if I do that & pop a spare 400gb drive I have into the box, will I have to redo the fun_plug?

Is the fun_plug only run off the hard drive (I assume it is or it would be the fun_plug firmware)?

Thanks,
Rich

Re: Does replacing Volume_1 destroy the fun_plug?

Yes, fun_plug (the script) must be located on /mnt/HD_a2 and Fonz's ffp (v.5) is
installed at /mnt/HD_a2/ffp.  If you remove your hard drive you will have to copy
(or recreate) these files on your new drive.

If you run ffp from an USB drive then you will only have to put your funplug script and maybe the USB storage module on the new disk. If everything from funplug is installed on the hard disk /mnt/HD_a2 then you should do a backup of funplug and restore it to the new disk.

Re: Does replacing Volume_1 destroy the fun_plug?

Be carefull an refering to Volume_1 (as in the subject line).  Volume_1 is a Samba share, not a physical drive.  As mig said, ".../mnt/HD_a2..." is the location that fun_plug must be at.  Volume_1 usually, BUT not alawys points to /mnt/HD_a2.
