installation of Lighttpd

Hello all,

I have a few questions here, I'm hoping someone can give me some insight.  As of right now I'm a very confused individual...

I'm not very good with Linux, therefore I'm learning mostly on the fly...  Ultimately I want to turn my NAS into a small PHP/MySql webserver.  Up until now, I've always been an IIS user, and can get everything running nicely on the windows box - that being said - who can't ????

Just so you know where I'm at now:
* Installed Fun_package w/ SSH - Works great
* Installed MySQL - secure installation: complete - running in background.

Here's my problem:

I have no clue how to install lighttpd, and get it running while keeping the default D-Link admin site running.  I spoke with an individual who managed to move the port for the admin page to 81 - In the long run I would like to do that.

I'm confused though, is there no package to install lighttpd direclty?  I'm always getting fatal errors about the package missing the /ffp directory.  DO I HAVE TO SET UP THE CROSS COMPILE TOOLCHAIN TO GET lighttpd installed?

How do I run this new daemon on Port 80, and move the default admin website to port 81?  So confused!  I read the instructions on this but it's somewhat greek to me!!!

If there's anyone out there who has patience, and is willing to possibly deal with some dumb questions at the beginning, please let me know!!!

Thanks very much in advance!

Chris.
