DSM-G600, DNS-3xx and NSA-220 Hack Forum

I was wondering if someone with better skills in cross-compiling than me could try to compile fuppes (http://fuppes.ulrich-voelkel.de) for the DNS-323/CH3SNAS and make an ipkg package for fun_plug.

After trying several uPNP servers, I've found this one to be the best for me, as I'm using it to stream media to my XBox360 console. The internal uPNP server included in the CH3SNAS firmware doesn't seem to work for me. Mediatomb can't talk to the Xbox360. And twonky... Twonly works more or less, period.

While using Twonky I was puzzled about several things. One was the high rate of videos I couldn't play because they weren't incompatible with the XBox360 (apparently an incompatible codec). Another one was the poor music library management, and missing the "play all" and similar features. After installing Fuppes on my home Linux server (not the NAS), where I previously had Twonky running, I was just surprised to see how all (or mostly all) the video files that were previously discarded when streamed from Twonky now were working flawlessly. The music collection was now sorted and ordered in a better way Twonky did. And "play all" works for me. I also loved the minimal (but functional) web administration Fuppes include.

I haven't been able to enable (video) transcoding, but I don't think I will need it, since the main idea behind transcoding was to be able to watch those "incompatible" videos on the console (I thought it was a format/codec issue and that transcoding would solve it). However, I don't care about not having transcoding on the NAS since it wouldn't have worked (due to hardware limitations). The configuation of Fuppes was also somewhat difficult, but after playing a while with it I got it working.

If you have a DNS-323/CH3SNAS and a Xbox360 console, Fuppes it's the way to go. In fact, if you have a Linux machine, you can easily compile it and give it a try. As I said, on my Linux server (*not* the NAS) it definitely does a better job than Twonky.

We already fulfill the requisites: we have sqlite, id3lib and imagemagick (this one is optional) as ipkg packages, the most tricky part is the Fuppes cross-compilation (I've tried without success ). Hints/tips/guidelines to compile it are also appreciated.
