Hey all,
Using the DNS-323 with Twonkymedia Server 4.4.9 and having an issue with the PS3 not showing the correct times for the videos, which makes it hard to use the Go To feature on the PS3 to jump around the file.
Installed 5.0.46 of Twonkymedia Server and it fixed that issue, but now I have the pink LED issue and the subsequent unmapping of my drive because of it, so I've reverted back to 4.4.9.
So that leaves the UPnP AV server in the DNS-323, which now has the 4GB limit fixed.
I'm reading a few negative things about 1.06, but wanted to know if anyone is using the UPnP AV server on a full time basis? How's the folder refresh rate? Does it show the proper times on the videos on the PS3?
Thanks!

I can speak on Xbox, and the verdict is that it's wonky.
Sometimes my Xbox can read files directly from the DNS, other times it can't.
Sometimes TVersity works, other times it doesn't.
Most of the time Twonky works, but there are still times when I have to rebuild the DB and rescan.
I think that ultimately we need Dlink and Xbox and Sony to work together to get it done right. They need to stop being so friggin' proprietary and allow us to play any media on any device. </soapbox>

As a PS3 user, here's my verdict... It still sucks balls big time...
Either go for Twonky or some other recommended server like mediatomb...
The only saving grace for the dlink upnp server is that it's free... other than that, it does work but is mediocre compared to twonky... DLNA errors still pop out frequently...
Having used twonky for over a year now and i haven't encountered DLNA errors since i switched...
as they say, you pay peanuts, you get monkeys... in this case, since you didn'y pay anything for it, don't expect much...

I'm using firmware 1.06 and having no problems with streaming to my ps3. the biggest problem is with the DRM set up on the PS3. Too many things in the ps3 software designed to protect media companies of which Sony is a big one.

fwiw, I've had better luck if you decrease the number of folder levels you have to get through in order to get to your files. for example, instead of dns_shared>my stuff>media>music>cd's>sesame street hip-hop>lil' elmo>lil' elmo gets his groove on> *.* ... change it to something like dns_shared>cd's>lil' elmo>lil' elmo gets his groove on> *.*
still get some dlna errors, but that seemed to decrease the frequency that I would see them. worth a try anyway

If you liked Twonky, you'll love Fuppes (http://dns323.kood.org/forum/t3769-Comp … oles).html). Hopefully someone will be able to figure how to cross-compile it for the DNS-323/CH3SNAS.
