Hello everyone,
I've been trying to get my DNS 323 ver 1.03 to support a Canon i950s printer. I can print without any problems via the DNS, but the Status Monitor fails to communicate. On this printer, when you print, the status of the ink cartidges and paper thickness lever is communicated back to the PC in a Status Monitor window that pops open. This is useful for monitoring ink levels, and also maintenance such as print-head cleaning and alignment can be performed from this same screen.
The printer port is set up for bi-directional communications, and I have tried the Raw and LPT formats with the same result.
I've reviewed the forum and it seems I may be asking too much of the DNS.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Ron

I believe the DNS-323's print server is uni-directional (this is fairly common with third party print servers) and the lack of a return communication path or back channel will prevent the status monitor from functioning.

You must be right - I've tried everything to no avail. Thanks for the response.
