I have only recently run across the DSM-G600 as a hackable platform (started on http://dns323.kood.org/dsmg600/). After reading through that wiki and searching around a bit I find that I have a couple of questions based upon a possibly faulty observation:
From studying the pictures of the DSM-G600's main board (the PowerPC version) it occurs to me that this board looks more like an OEM embedded platform rather than a custom job by D-Link. Poking around on the FCC's website and searching for the board ID didn't turn up anything so I'm thinking that D-Link got the whole package certified instead of the individual components. So, I was wondering, has anyone been able to find out anything about the origin of the main board? Is it a D-Link custom job or, as I believe, something they purchased from a supplier of embedded boards? If the latter, any idea who?
Related to the previous question and observation; has anyone gotten a schematic (or, perhaps, contacted D-Link about how to get one)?
I create embedded linux BSPs for a living and have a board that's *very* similar to the DSM-G600's main board on my bench right now (uses the Freescale XPC860) that I'm finishing up. Knowing that board I think the DSM-G600's main board is highly hackable, both hardware and software, and could easily be made into a significant (albeit slow) platform. I'll be purchasing one this weekend so I can poke around a bit but I was thinking that if the schematic wasn't available maybe I'd just purchase two. That way I could remove all of the chips from one of the boards and trace out the schematic from the pads.
BTW: I notice a non-installed 16-pin header just off the center of the board with 7 pins connected to, apparently, the XPC8241. This looks an aweful lot like a JTAG connector; any idea if it is? It would be cool if I could just slap my emulator onto it.
Thanks both for the reading of my post as well as any information anyone can provide!

Welcome, nice to see that interest on DSM-G600 is not quite dead yet
I can tell pretty sure that DSM-G600 revB is not made by D-Link, but unfortunately I don't know the company name which developed DSM-G600.
For now I know that Trendnet TS-I300/TS-I300W, D-Link DNS-323 and D-Link DSM-G600 revB is made by same company (at least firmware part for sure).
About JTAG, I don't know the latest developments but beattie has tried some soldering work on this one but no success so far. You can get more info from here.
