rsync: failed to set times on... Stale NFS file handle...

Using unfs3-0.9.20-4 and FUN-PLUG 0.5, I get this:

# backup /home/cvs /usr/local /var/spool/mail /etc
rsync: failed to set times on "/net/dns321/mnt/HD_a2/dual.rkkda.org/usr/local/bin/easylife": Stale NFS file handle (116)
rsync: failed to set times on "/net/dns321/mnt/HD_a2/dual.rkkda.org/usr/local/bin/xtrkcad": Stale NFS file handle (116)
etc...

Tons of them! These are symbolic links.  I note that unfs3-0.9.22 is out.  Would that make a change?  I need this to work as I am swiching from an older (~5 years) SimpleShare NAS device with kernel based NFS to a DNS-321 NAS device with UNFS3.

Help!

-Rick

I've upgraded to 0.9.22. Please give it a try and let me know how it works:

Re: rsync: failed to set times on... Stale NFS file handle...

With 0.9.22:

$ ll alt
lrwxrwxrwx 1 rick rick 6 2008-07-10 14:27 alt -> ../alt

$ rsync -a  alt /net/dns321/mnt/HD_a2
rsync: failed to set times on "/net/dns321/mnt/HD_a2/alt": Stale NFS file handle (116)
rsync error: some files/attrs were not transferred (see previous errors) (code 23) at main.c(1040) [sender=3.0.4]

Same thing!

Re: rsync: failed to set times on... Stale NFS file handle...

seems like proper nfs support is only possible with kernel-nfs.

Re: rsync: failed to set times on... Stale NFS file handle...

I think there is a bug or a *compiler* bug in unfs3.   I'm going to do some tests on a i386 machine instead of armv5tejl machine.
