Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Okay, I really am not 100% with all this stuff, but I've just installed firefly using Standalone - The Easy Way - Method 2 in these instructions
http://dns323.kood.org/howto:firefly
But now I want to uninstall it, and use the funplug v0.5 version that's described here http://files.hesse-n.com/ch3snas/.
I would be really grateful if someone could give me instructions on how to remove it.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Roffers,
I did the exact same thing as you:
1. Installed firefly "The Easy Way - Method 2" (without having it start automatically - the last paragraph in the wiki)
2. Uninstalled it
3. Installed the ipkg version (ffp)
Here's how I uninstalled it:
1. Stopped the process (mt-daapd)
2. Deleted /mnt/HD_a2/lnx-bin
3. Reset my PATH element to exclude references to /mnt/HD_a2/lnx_bin
4. Reset the LD_LIBRARY_PATH to blank
Hopefully this helps you.

Thanks for the reply Fezz, much appreciated,
Maybe I over sold myself when I said I'm not 100%. Basically I'm an idiot, and I think I need idiot type instructions. Basically the extent of my know-how is I can telnet, use vi, and I can blindly follow instructions on a wiki
I've had a look at my lnx_bin and there's a whole load of other stuff in there, and to be honest I'm a bit concerned that if i delete that folder, I'm going to brick my DNS-323 and that would definitely make me cry.
Can you or anyone else help me some more with a "dummies guide to removing firefly - the wiki way".
What would be the outcome if I just installed the ffp version?
Roffers
