Sorting files by date and thumbnails

I searched through the forum and could not find any similiar topics.

I was wondering if there is a way to change the sorting of files (video/audio etc)DNS-323.
Right now it looks like it send everything in alpha order with folders at the top.

- It would be nice to change it date modified?
Anyone know how?

- Also, is there a way to add a custom thumbnail?
i.e. PS 3 Media Server does this by adding a filename.avi.cover.jpg for the movie filename.avi

Thanks in advance!

Re: Sorting files by date and thumbnails

Sorting the files where? where are you viewing the files from the DNS? Its usually the job of the client (explorer, ftp, media players, ps3 etc) to control this..

DNS-323 as stock, with ffp.  Version 1.08, WinXp SP2 on Dell PC and HP laptop. GigE on all links & switch. 802.11g wireless :\

Re: Sorting files by date and thumbnails

I am viewing the files from a PS 3.
The NAS is controlling the sort method.
On some Upnp AV media servers there is an option to change how things are sorted.
i.e. version 1.10 of PS 3 Media Server.
