A quick google on "no_more_irp_stack_location" returned several hits pointing to ZoneAlarm Pro

Re: XP 64 Crash all the time when access DNS 323

After testing several hours still no result, always crash with XP 64. both using Dlink software or just using conventional mapping network drive. The drive can be mapped but then crash. Tested it under XP 32 no problems found.

But found the solution. Not good but enough. at least no more crash. Access using Ftp software or at windows explorer at the address type ftp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx where xxx is the ip of the NAS DNS 323. insert the user name and password. that's it. all good. Well, at least now i can use it!.

Hope anyone having the same problem can use this solution. But i am still looking a solution to map with XP 64 with out crash!

Re: XP 64 Crash all the time when access DNS 323

One of the hits did point to Kaspersky - now I hate to phrase my response this way, but it's the only way I know to do it.  It's not that I am defending the DNS-323, so much as stating the facts as concisely as I can.

It is unlikely that your problem is caused by the DNS-323 - but rather by some piece of software on the PC, either the OS, a driver, or a utility - I would focus on NIC drivers and firewall or anti virus utilities - if you have any other computers, create a shared folder on one of them and try to access it from the XP 64 system, I would expect it to crash with a similar error.

Windows treats the DNS-323 as just another SMB (server message block) share using software that ships as integral part of windows to gain access to it - back in the old DOS days, this piece of software used to be known as the network redirector - at that time it was a separate piece of code that was added so that DOS knew that a given drive letter represented a network share rather than a local drive, and how to reach it.  I rather suspect that this is now an integral part of the Windows Explorer in 32 bit Windows and I would assume similarly in the 64 bit versions also.

The error message does point to the interrupt stack and does suggest that Windows may have run out of space to process interrupts, but, the article you linked does not mention XP 64 and I notice excludes the 64 bit versions of the server OS - as far as I know there is significant common code between XP Pro and Server 2003, so I would not be surprised to find that the article also does not apply to XP 64.

One last comment - it is theoretically possible that the interrupt stack has enough space for normal operations but, due to some bug glitch elsewhere, perhaps in a NIC driver, etc., a "rapid fire" series of interrupts may be issued causing the problem.

If as I suggested the problem also occurs accessing other network shares you might like to try uninstalling the av and firewall utilities and reloading the NIC driver (of course, one by one)

Re: XP 64 Crash all the time when access DNS 323

Thank you very much for more guide fordem. Will give it a try later. Till now i have enough with access via FTP. I know it is not the fault of DNS 323. Cos it works with other version.
