DNS-323 not able to handle chinese fonts

Dear Gurus,

has anyone experience not able to copy "chinese characters" filenames to 323 correctly? For example : Folder "校墓处" to dns323, i get "~4H" as the folder name.

Please kindly advise how i could overcome this bug?

Cheers,
Snake

Re: DNS-323 not able to handle chinese fonts

I am having exactly the same problem. Would like to know if anyone managed to solve this issue. I called D-Link tech support, but they are completely useless. The device is otherwise working pretty well for me.

Re: DNS-323 not able to handle chinese fonts

Are you guys using the built-in SAMBA filesharing service? I know that SAMBA does not allow a lot of special characters, and so it may be a problem with the protocol, not the device itself. You might try setting up NFS instead. (I haven't done this personally, but there should be guides in the wiki and/or forums.)

Re: DNS-323 not able to handle chinese fonts

I am having the same problem. From a Window XP PC, the folders with Chinese characters on DNS can not be displayed properly. However, from a Linux PC, directory listing of the same folders (cifs-mounted) do show display Chinese correctly.

I need to point out that the same folders used to be hosted on a normal Linux server running up-to-date samba. I can see Chinese folder names from either Windows or Linux.
