Could it be that the funplug you have installed is not the 0.5 version?

It sounds to me like its an old funplug also.  Do you have the ffp folder in your root? in oher words when you telnet/ssh into the box can you cd to the ffp folder? That should be a quick way to verify but I am not sure if its an accurate way. I believe the older versions had a different funplug folder... not the ffp

That's not a funplug package. Where did you get that?

I know this thread has been inactive for a few months, but I had a question/issue that pertains to the topic and the instructions from the wiki [http://dns323.kood.org/howto:vsftpd] for configuring vsftpd.

I followed all the instructions, including the "more secure" section at the bottom. Everything went as planned and FTP worked. But...

If the SFTP uses port 22 and listens for username/password combinations - how does ssh (by itself) work? My ssh would not work after configuring the vsftpd. I cannot remember if the returned error was host did not respond or incorrect credentials. I am not sure if I am just tired and overlooked or misconfigured something. Can anyone help shed some light on this for me?

Ultimately, I had to recover my telnet with no root credientials to get back in my DNS-323 - Since I disabled telnet and I could not write using ftp. Which brings up another issue, I was locked down to a home/ftp directory which was good, but I was not able to write - permission denied.
