installing chroot debian

Hey,

I have an ok understanding of linux.

I Have a dns-323 for a while now, and i want to do a little more with it now,

but i want to know if i install chroot debian on my dns-323 do i lose all the config i have like upnp server, and other thing or do i have to reconfigure all (in debian or dns-323 web access)

another question is right now i have a samsung sata 7200 1TB in it and i'm planning to add another and running them in RAID 1,

if i add a drive will it format the 2 or just format the one i add and mirror, the #1 to the #2, thus keeping my data and creating my RAID 1?

thank you

Re: installing chroot debian

from reading other post i think i should do backup of the drive on the other driver and not a raid 1....

but i'm wondering how many time does a corrupted volume happens...

Normally not. Chrooted Debian is 'just another process' which is started, just like ffp. It doesn't need to touch the running configuration and processes.
