Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

I searched here and the wiki and didn't find anything specific... has anyone hacked the 323 to have a full email server on it? I'll be running hMailServer on a windows box (to get rid of exchange), but if I could run something like Scalix or Zimbra (both linux based) , or something even simpler (just need a few users, imap and pop access) directly on the 323, that would be an awesome little piece of hardware!
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,
I bought my 323 just last Friday and already had the same idea. I read somewhere around here, that its possible to install a striped linux distribution on one of the drives and have it boot using fun_plug. Now if you know any simple mail server like you described one, it should be possible to run it under that "second" linux. Problem might be as far as I know, and please please tell me that I'm wrong , that the email server would need to be compiled for the marvell 500 processor first.
I'm happy that I'm at least not the only person who thought about using the 323 as a full email server, as it runs all day and night anyway.
Another discussion would further be, how to manage the email delivery between the web and the server. DynDNS would provide a static ftp adress, but don't we then need a special delivery protocol like pop3 or smtp? How would our server know, where to send any mail to?
Lots of questions, and hopefully one or more brainiacs with great solutions
Enjoy the weekend,
Ben
