If the drives are formatted as standard volumes, you should be able to move them around without too much difficulty - you should expect permissions & security settings that refer to the share name to get screwed ( permissions set to Volume_1/some_folder will need to be changed to point to Volume_2/some_folder

Drive 0 is I believe referencing the physical drive - it might depend on where you saw it - if you open up your DNS-323, you'll find the Drive 0 designation silk screened on to the board alongside the connector for the right drive slot, Drive 1 is the left side.
