Hi All,
Noob question. Please help.
I've got my DNS323 to stream videos, pics.... so it seems.
I ripped Amy Winehouse CD (Back In Black) using Windows Media Player.
I ripped it first in Window media Audio. Only the first song showed up when the PS3 scanned.
I then ripped it in MP3.... then nothing showed up.
Each time after i ripped, I made sure to make the PS3 search for the media server.
I had ripped an older CD earlier and seemed to have no problem. It was in MP3 format.
So what's wrong here? is it the PS3 or DNS323 that's giving me the headache?
Thanks in advance.

Might help if you said how you were streaming to the PS3!!

Thanks RAp for replying.
I have the DNS323's UPNP enabled and that's how I stream it to the PS3. I got a cat6 cable running from the DNS323 to the PS3.
The ripped materials live on a DNS323 folder. The PS3 can see the folder but not all of the songs, only the 1st song, not the rest.
This is frustrating

I have no problem with streaming from my 323 to my ps3, both units are connected thru the network and not directly to one another. One thought is to have the 323 upnp do a refresh. the 323 is suppose to do this when you add media but sometimes it messes up. I also have the itunes server activated and the ps3 can read the acc. files in the itunes folder. Just out of curiosity why a direct cat6 from the 323 to the ps3?

It helps if you redetect Media Servers from the PS3. I'm always changing things around on my DNS-323 and usually I can go into the PS3 and redetect the media servers and get anything that is new.

The reason for the cat6 is that I plan on recording my NFL games in HD. And it's more reliable through wired connection. I've researched and most have better luck when it comes to HD streaming.

Truedeek, I made sure that the PS3 searched for the media server...over and over... but what's strange is that... it only recognized the first song on my Amy Winehouse CD that I ripped. I ripped it in both format, Windows and MP3... place both format in same folder and the PS3 sometimes only one song or none... the pattern is not consistent.
Could this be an issue with copyright protection on the CD?

Well duh....... I can't fgure this out... now all the songs showed up and playable. Go figure!
Earlier I made sure to scan for media server from the PS3... did it several times and it didn't update and sometimes when it did... it said the file was not playable.

ON the DNS323 there is a "refresh" button under Advanced>UPnP Server, While the unit is supposed to scan for new media - my experience is that it takes some time to do this. Allowing the unit to manually refresh usually brings up the "missing" media files.
In your case, maybe you didn't allow enough time for the scan to occur.
