Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

I have 2 disks in the bays. One formatted as a standard and has alredy data (volume1) the other one is empty (volume2).
Now I want to create a mirror (raid 1) without loosing all the data on my volume1.
Do you have a solution?

Yes, it is possible to do but I would feel more comfortable to perform this operation on a standalone PC running Linux rather than in DNS-323.
Perhaps the safest procedure is to create a Software AutoRAID partition on the new disk, create a RAID and ext2 FS, copy files from the old disk, insert the new disk into DNS-323 and if you can see an access all your files than delete the partition on the old disk and insert it to DNS-323 and synchronize.
Again it might be safer to do the last step- synchronization- from a command line.
There are some other ways of achieving the same- such as creating RAID on a single disk in DNS323 and copying the files over the network from the old one, it depends on your circumstances.

I have the same problem. I would have thought they would have found a way to add a mirror to the unit and get it to auto create the raid without wiping the contents! Really disappointing as I dont have 500GB spare to store my files! Since I dont have a linux machine (linux n00b) I have no idea how to do what you suggested
