I upgraded my DNS-343 with the firmware found at Dlink France posted here ftp://ftp.dlink.fr/DNS/DNS-343/Firmware … 43.1.03b60 (relnotes here: ftp://ftp.dlink.fr/DNS/DNS-343/Firmware … te_103.TXT); and whilst doing the modified store-passwd.sh for 343 (posted here at dsmg600) I got this message:
/mnt/HD_a2/ffp/sbin # store-passwd.sh
126844 is less than 126964
Probably a DNS-323, use old backup method
Copying files to mtd1...
Copying files to mtd2...
DNS-323 Backup Complete. Exiting
So I restored the original store-passwd.sh, and sure enough...
/mnt/HD_a2/ffp/sbin # mv store-passwd.sh store-passwd.sh.343
/mnt/HD_a2/ffp/sbin # mv store-passwd-sh-bck store-passwd.sh
/mnt/HD_a2/ffp/sbin # chmod a+x store-passwd.sh
/mnt/HD_a2/ffp/sbin # ls -lu store-passwd.*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1318 Mar 2 08:05 store-passwd.sh.343
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 604 Apr 5 2008 store-passwd.sh
/mnt/HD_a2/ffp/sbin # store-passwd.sh
Copying files to mtd1...
Copying files to mtd2...
Done.
...it worked!
Oh and the 1.03 fixed the 94% hanging I got when formatting in RAID5.
