Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Hi,
I'm using DNS-323 with 1.06 firmware for quite a while. No fun_plug of any modifications yet. I've got several folders, most is supposed for read-only access, and one folder for read-write access. I use it to upload to my home varios usefull files and folders from where I located. Today I've noticed that I can't upload or make folders via FTP, I'm getting message that connection was aborted. Also, I'm able to upload as many files as I want. Thinking it's a connectivity problem, I tried it at home, and got the same result.
Currently I can not create or upload, or delete any folders via FTP. Managing files and folders via LAN is perfectly okay. I tried the following: rebooting the NAS, restarting FTP server via web-gui, reset to the factory defaults, creating a new folder with a new user and assigning security rights anew.
Nothing gave any results. I can upload any number of files, but can't operate folders via FTP. I tried FileZilla, IE, FireFox - same result. Please help!

Update: I misdiagnosed the problem. Looks like I can create folders, but unable to copy them by FTP. I'm sure there is something wrong with built-in FTP server.
When I try, for example, to copy a folder full of mp3's by FileZilla, the folder is created, but after that my user is disconnected. FileZilla automatically reconnects, DNS says that I'm number 2 user of 10 allowed, FileZilla copies one file, gets disconnected again, then connects as user 3 of 10, copies second file and so on, till all user slots are filled. ANy ideas how to fix that?

Great, now I'm not allowed to log in to FTP at all.
"ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server", even when I connected it directly to my laptop, bypassing the router.
This is just weird, I didn't change any settings during that time. How can I restore everything back? Started and stopped the FTP again, no result. Reset it to factory defaults second time. I guess there's something wrong with config files at the drives, I consider formatting and restoring to the factory defaults again. I fear that is some hardware problem...

Scanning by network sniffer while attempting to log in to FTP brought me lots of messages like that:
Checksum: 0x8245 [incorrect, should be 0x5917 (maybe caused by "TCP checksum offload"?)]
Is that a sign of failing NIC? While browsing unit's contents, I'm getting same messages, but have no difficulties copiyng and reading files. Can it be that FTP is more sensitive to network errors?

This darn unit continues to surprise me. I firmly decided to format the drives and if this won't gave any results, I'd took it to a D-link service center. To kill time till the start of the working week, I restored my settings (I swear I made it several times while trying to fix the darn FTP) and re-created my FTP users again. And it works. God knows why.
Happy End.
