Just got a DNS323 with two 1tb samsung f1 spinpoints. Am blown away with how cool it is. No issues. Plugged drives in and off we go, have backed up everything, using itunes server, all good.
But... I did all this without creating users or groups, so it's just a free for all.
I would like, ideally, to be able to lock one folder, only one, for my use only, but cannot figure out how to do this. The manual is sh1te, frankly, and I'm worried that by setting permissions, etc, I will delete my content. I've done some searches, but haven't been able to find anything truly useful. I'm on firmware 1.06, so add ons or anything.
Actually, that's another issue, I installed the standard Bit Torrent client thing, but I'll have a play with that before I ask for any help.
So... has anyone written a decent users and groups guide to help someone in this position? I would like to be the only person who can access that folder at all.
I'm also not sure how that would manifest in a Vista environment... if, say, media centre was pointed at that folder, would it refuse to play antying in it, or would it ask me for a password? How does the DNS know which user is using it at any time, unless it prompts for a user and password?
