Hello:
I have had a DNS-323 with two 500GB 7200 rpm Seagate Barracucda drives for about 4 or 5 months. One of my drives started to act up and indicate that some folders were empty of files. I started to panic and thought that maybe I had a virus that was deleting items. I shut the DNS-323 down and removed the suspect HD and installed it in my Nexstar HD dock and tried to view the drive on my desktop. That didn't work at all (another post) so I put the HD back into the DNS232 and powered it up. This time I could see the folders and files, so I thought okay the DNS-323 must have temporarily lost it's marbles and all is now good. So I shut it down again and put everything back to normal (I had swapped the left and right HD) and when I powered it up now more folders and files are missing from the directory.
What is happening?
What can I do to correct this problem?
Is this an indication of a bad DNS323 or a bad HD?
Thank you
