Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.
You are not logged in.
I also noticed a new behavior in 1.60's web client - when you add a torrent, it is initially paused. I checked the preferences again and the "start transfers when added" option is ticked. It's a little bit inconsistent.

Same thing for me and i resolve this problem just by unticking the box, saving preferences, and then thicking and saving again
Now it is ok when i add a torrent, it just starts immediately

I know this should be asked on the Transmission web site but thought I'd try here first. Has anyone noticed that 1.60 checks every 20 minutes to see if the port is still open?
Port Forwarding: Checking to see if port 51413 is still open
Does anyone know how to make it stop checking (or change the frequency)?

Version 1.61 is out. Check the first post for changes and download links.
Warning: This new version effectively breaks support for Automatic (RSS downloader, see my signature). If you depend on Automatic, please wait for a while until I can update Automatic (should be today).

This was added in 1.60 (one of my patches, actually). Unfortunately there currently is no way to either disable it or change the interval. May I ask why you need either of these options?

Thanks Kylek. It actually keeps my hard drive from going to sleep. If I'm not doing anything, I'd like to to spin down but the 20 minute check stops it from doing that. I could unload it when I'm not using it but then I'd have to rewrite my scripts.
EDIT: I think I may have found an answer. It was spinning up the drive becausae it was writing to the log. I just moved the log to my thumb drive, I'll let you know if that fixes it.

Hi All,
I wonder if you can help me please. I have downloaded and installed Transmission fine.
However the problem I am having is the download location....
Its looking for \/home\/nobody\/Downloads which doesn't exist. I have tried editing the settings.json to the correct path, but on restarting Transmission this file is overwritten with what I assume is the default settings file. How can I change the download location?
I have looked for answers on the forum but no luck.
Thanks

Try stopping transmission, make your changes then start it again. When you stop Transmission, it updates the settings file overwriting anything you did while it was running

Thanks I tried that but still no joy :-(
I have tried this which does seem to set the correct directory
transmission-daemon -f -g /mnt/HD_a2/.transmission-daemon -t -u username -v password -a 127.0.0.1,192.168.*.* -w \/mnt\/HD_a2\/Downloads
However reading the log on uploading a torrent (as again the torrent stopped) it says
parent folder "/nmt/HD_a2/Downloads" does not exist
even though there is no reference anywhere to /nmt?! as you can see from starting Transmission I choose mnt! Very wierd!?
I have looked in the settings.json and that says mnt so god knows where its getting nmt from. Any ideas?
Thanks

I'm having a problem with the 1.61 build (I upgraded from 1.51).
Adding a torrent from URL works fine, but when I try to upload a torrent from my hard drive by Browse and Upload, the torrent doesn't get added.
Edit: Have checked from two different computers on separate networks, trying both IE7 and Firefox 3. Same result.

Also having problem with 1.61.
My setup is as follows: fresh install of FFP 0.5 (due to HDDs upgrade) --> install 1.60 - fine --> upgrade to 1.61.
The problem is that web interface is not functional after upgrade to 1.61.
Have checked it in Chrome, Opera and IE8.
dotNet-based remote GUI seems to work fine.
error in log is the same as sde_uk described: it looks for \/home\/nobody\/Downloads despite the other setting in config

How does the web interface not work? Do you get an error message in your browser? What does the Transmission logfile say? There should be 1 or two lines in there saying "Searching for index.html at /some/path".
Regarding the error message with the download folder:
Properly quit Transmission (/ffp/start/transmission.sh stop, and make sure it's gone with 'top' or 'ps'), then look at /mnt/HD_a2/.transmission-daemon/settings.json with a text editor. Check if the wrong download path is included there as well.

Wrong forum, please report this directly to the Transmission developers (www.transmissionbt.com)

I'm having a problem with 1.61's web client on google Chrome. It always says it's offline and doesn't show the torrents. But it works ok on IE (7). I haven't restarted chrome since updating to 1.61 from 1.60 so it might just require a browser restart...
And another thing - does funplug/transmission 1.6x support IPV6? The logs have a bunch of "address family not supported by protocol" statements.

Done. The path in settings.json is the correct one, in my case it is

Stop transmission as above then delete the entire transmission directory under "/home/nobody/.local/share" then restart transmission. If there is a settings.json file under the users .local file, it will look at that one first.

That's because your browser is now allowed to cache static elements of the web interface (pictures & such). I noticed the improvement as well :)

Thanks for advice, but the folder /home/nobody doesnt exist.
Probably I will do clean reinstall starting from ffp.
Hope this will help.

The NAS doesn't support IPv6, that's why you're getting the above message. You can ignore it though.

I have problem with add new torrrent to download list.
When I try, torrent is no addition to list. At this time, I add torrent to folder [b].transmission-daemon\torrents[b] and restart Transmission.
How to fix?
this is may setting.

After complete reinstall of ffp and fresh setup of 1.61 I have exactly the same problem as martig.
Luckily for me, I have 1.60 package left as backup and so I rolled back to it and everything fine.
Since new version works for some, and due to the fact that i faced _diffrent_ bugs after upgrade and after fresh install, I suspect a problem in configuration like permissions or owner on files/folders or so...
P.S. I was using almost every Kylek's build of transmission since shadow_andy stopped to compile transmission/clutch himself...

Adding torrents through the web interface seems to be broken in 1.61, although I've heard that adding them via URL works. I know nothing about HTML/Javascript, so I can't do anything about it.

Probably it's a good idea to have a link to 1.60 also in the first post of this thread then?

Hi all
Thanks Kylek for compiling Transmission 1.61. I want to mention one thing. Old version of Transmission remote GUI 0.95 is not working with 1.61, but worked with 1.51. You need to upgrade Transmission remote GUI to version 1.0 and everything works fine. You don't need to use WEB interface when you have remote GUI So no problems at all ! Thanks !
One question: is there any documentation on new tags in settings.json file ? Old wiki does not have any description on alt-... and other new tags.
