Hi,
I've had a good search of the forum but couldn't find a definitive answer. However thanks to the people that posted links to Ext2 as that is currently saving my bacon by allowing me to back off the data on the NAS.
Ok, the problem. I recently upgraded the NAS to 1.07 and it became very unstable with a number of issues. One issue was it bombing out whenever it felt like it. I tried to downgrade the firmware back to 1.05, all was going well until the dam thing bombed out again. I now have a very expensive paper weight.
My experience of Dlink support is on par with everyone else's on here i.e. cr*p!
So am I stuffed? can I recover it or do I send it back to Dlink or Amazon (where I bought it from)
Thanks for any pointers
Cheers

I think the first thing I'd do if I were you would be to try a hard-reset using the reset button on the back of the unit. Holding it in 30 seconds while the unit is turned on should reset everything back to a stable state.
