Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

I have purchased the device and discovered the following:
Within the wired network, upload speed around 10MB/sec, download speed around max 10KB/sec, absolutely unworkable. I get a timeout very often.
I have another device, the NMT-A110, it has a downloadspeed of 600KB/sec, and it is not configured to be a network storage device.
Does anyone have any idea what is wrong here?
The network: Modem/router (Zyxel) - PC (Vista) - NMT (popcorn) - NAS (DNS323, 2x Samsung 1.5TB)

With no information as to the network infrastructure, the device at the other end of the test or how the test was conducted, there is very little that we can suggest.
In fact all I'll say is I can transfer data to my DNS-323 at speeds approaching 25MBytes/sec, and from at speeds exceeding 30MBytes/sec.
You say you get a timeout very often - that suggests your network has a fault that is causing corrupt packets to be received.

Ok, trying to describe the infrastructure:
-Modem/Router, Zyxel 2602HW-61, connected to provider by ADSL
-PC, Vista, wired connection to modem
-DNS-323, wired connection to modem
-NMT, wired connection to modem
I suspect something wrong in either DNS-323 (differences in upload and download is very high) or in the modem/router or the settings of it. I've enforced static DHCP to Pc, NMT and DNS through Mac adresses, configured in the modem/router.
What more network infrastructure is needed?
What modem/router settings would cause corrupt packets?
Thanks in advance

Defective or improperly terminated cables would be the prime suspect.

Found it. The modem/router is the cause. If not connected to the DSL, everything is fine, once connected, the downloadrate sucks. Solved it by putting a router in between.
thanks for the effort!!
