I am located in the UK and have just purchased a DNS-323. I plan to format 2x500GB drives (Hitachi HDS725050KLA360) as RAID 1 and EXT2. My question is which firmware to upgrade to device to?
It appears the most recent firmware upgrade posted on the UK D-Link support site is 1.02b114, while the US site has version 1.03 available. I would normally take the most recent firmware available (ie. 1.03 for the US site) but the US site explicitly states for all firmware available from their site:
----------
Attention:
This firmware is engineered for North American products only.
Using this firmware on a device outside of North America will void your warranty and may render the device unusable.
----------
What are other UK based folk's experiences?

At least one user has done it - the following post was clipped from this thread - http://dns323.kood.org/forum/post.php?t … p;qid=2788

Evening,
I have a UK version, which came with the original firmware.
I downloaded the latest software from the US site, installed it and there have been no problems at all.

My NAS was bought from the UK (Dabs), and I've applied 1.03 with absolutely no problem.

ver 1.03 is now available on the UK site.
However....
I noticed problems streaming video to a DSM-320 with this version - the video is jerky and after a few minutes the server connection is lost and you have to re-boot the DNS-323 (or disable and enable UPnP AV option)
I've gone back to ver 1.02b and it is much better (doesn't lose connection)

Is the defrag/scandisk options availiable again, or are they still 'missing' ?

I had the exact same problem. And went back to 1.02b which solved the problem. But it sucks not to be able to use the latest version...
