I have the DNS-323 server connected via the wireless router. And in the server setting, i have given the device name as "Home-server" and no password is set. When i try to map (windows Xp) from my computer - Tools - Map network drive - Z: & folder as "\\Home-server\volume_1", i get the error unable to connect. But if i map with the ip address, "\\192.168.0.100\volum_1", then i m able to map it. But how to map it with the name of the server i.e "Home-server"? Can any one please help to solve this.

For name resolution (resolving the host name to it's ip address) to work properly, you need to have a DNS (domain naming system) server on your network - most home networks don't. Windows has two other methods, WINs (windows internet name service) which also requires a server and a computer browser, neither of which work well with non Windows systems, which category the DNS-323 falls into.
Start by making sure that the DNS-323 is in the same workgroup as the other computers, and if that fails, you'll probably need to edit the host file - search for host - it's usually in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc - just look in the file itself and you'll see directions on how to add a host name.
You'll need to do this on every system on the network that needs access to the DNS-323, which can become a chore on a large network, in that case you'd add a name server.
