DN-323 LAN light blinking ALL the time

I just got my DNS 323 a few days ago, and at first it worked fine but after downloading a few test files from some torrents, the LAN LED on the DNS-323 is blinking ALL the time. Also, its not just the NAS but I was looking at the router, when ever I have a 323 on, ALL the LEDs on the router blinks as if activity is going on. I understand, its port blinking if there is activity but, ALL the time? This will kill my hard drives, I do have the option to turn of the hard drive after 5 minutes. But it never goes to sleep because it ALWAYS active. How do I solve?

FYI The system is STOCK, no modifications whatsoever have been done to it. Other than adding a 1TB and 160GB hard drive.

Sounds like this is the problem. It is still downloading/seeding and therefore, accessing your hard drives. By the way, I don't think it means that your hard drives are necessarily going to die any sooner because they are always working, does it? I guess simple physics say they will, but I thought most HDD had stupidly high MTBF nowadays.

It does not have ANY downloads, in the queue right now. Nor does it have any torrents that its seeding.

The most jarring thing to me is that it seems like, it is pinging all the connected items the router (since ALL the activity LEDs are active; flashing, constantly, on the router).

Spoke with D-link earlier today, two of their reps told me that it is normal. That the DNS-323 monitors the network for any incoming requests. I still find it hard to believe. Do you guys, have the same thing happen to you?

My LEDs don't blink at all unless being accessed, and I don't even have sleep enabled for the drives.

Maybe because, even if you stopped downloading / seeding torrent, peers, on the p2p network, keep going to try to connect to your device (since your are still in their peer IP list ?)

Try to switch your Internet connection down for a while, to see if the "blinking" effect is still there.

I just tried that and it did not work it kept on "blinking" away. So what I did is I created some user accounts in the NAS and deleted the default access that was there. and Before I knew it it STOPPED. But the n I could not access my torrent download manager, it told me "Connection to server Failed". So I reset it back to factory settings. I was able to access the torrent download manager for a while but then after that I got the same error. But it stopped blinking
