Thanks to assistance form fonz and other supporters of this forum I've been successful at installing svn and configuring a build environment on my DNS323.

Having this environment enabled me to build the latest production version of Samba, 3.3.6. It's reported that this version corrects a small security problem associated with version 3.0.1 through 3.3.5.

During the build process I found two items in the source files that fonz may wish to update in the svn. 1) The file named ../funplug/source/samba/configure_args contains a line reading --with-smbmount. This option is no longer available in Samba 3.3.6 thus the line could be removed. 2) The file named ../ funplug/source/samba/SRC_URl contains a the name of a site that the latest package isn't available from. I changed the line to read http://www.samba.org/samba/ftp/stable/$P.tar.gz

I would love to be able to compile these Samba builds as well. Do you have your code/instructions that you're willing to share?
