It works great for me. I stuck in some drives, updated the firmware, formatted the disks in a RAID 1 setup, created one user group, created 3 users in that user group, and gave them all permission to access a directory off the root of the DNS-323 device. Something like "\\dns-323\backups". My desired use is running Vista full backups (I have Vista Ultimate and it has such full backup capability) so I wrote two on liner little batch files to mount that subdirectory as a drive or to mount other similar paths as drives:
- net use O: \\dns-323\backups /persistent:yes /user:myusername mypassword
And the other to run a full backup to the shared path on the NAS:
- wbadmin start backup -backuptarget:\\dns-323\backups -include:c:

I have my DNS working fine on Vista as a network drive. The only "problem" I have is that Vista keeps on asking me to install drivers for my DNS. I assume this has to do with upnp, which I would like to see working with WMP11. Does anyone have some suggestions for this?
