I just got a new PC (Vista Ultimate) and got everything, including my DNS-323, hooked up and running again. After my first successful system backup, I'm now getting "Access is Denied" when attempting to access the following folder:
\\DNS323\Volume_1\Studio XPS Backups\STUDIOXPS435T\
or
Z:\Studio XPS Backups\STUDIOXPS435T\
I can get to that "Studio XPS Backups" folder just fine, but get "Access is Denied" on the STUDIOXPS435T folder.
I remember I had issues with this sort of thing when I first bought the DNS-323, but I can't remember what the resolution was. Using firmware v1.07.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well, I don't understand this...
I try using Windows Live OneCare's built-in backup utility, which doesn't prompt me for a username/password when I configure the backup, and I have no trouble accessing or deleting all files and folders it creates. However, Vista's built-in backup utility, which DOES prompt me for a username/password, does restrict me access to the subfolder I referenced above, and does not allow me to delete it.
I've configured and ran the Vista backup using the same username/password I use to log into the DNS-323, as well as a username/password I've created within the DNS-323 interface and given full read/write access to. However, it's the same result - "Access is Denied" trying to access the subfolders and unable to delete them.

If you just want to delete them try running "rm -fr \Volume_1\Studio XPS Backups\STUDIOXPS435T\" logged in SSH using root.

So, there is absolutely no way to remove the files entirely within Windows, without reformatting?
