Can I do this???? (Multiple DNS disk swap)

Hi:

I have 2 dns 323's- both media servers. One has kids videos, one "my" vids. The kids video one is just about full- it only had a 500GB drive- so I am wanting to put in a 2 TB. (FWIW, it is the "B" drive in that DNS; the "A" drive in thet DNS is my music files and that disk is fine)

So:

I was going to get the Seagate or WD 2 TB, does one work better than the other in the DNS? Will both work (I have the latest upgrades but NOT beta 1.08).

The second DNS has a free bay. I was going to format the 2TB there. After reading about wrong disk formats, I figgered I would REMOVE the "A" drive, and ONLY put in the blank 2 TB drive and THEN format. This will solve that error, no? Then I would copy over the "Kids" drive to the 2TB, then remove the kids drive and replace that drive with the 2 TB.

Will this work????

Thanks!

dave
