Hi everyone,
Here is my problem.
When i hit "tab" to autocomplete a path or filename, the shell displays tons of file like it was listing another directory than the current one.
When i'm in a dir and i try to access a file that is located in that directory i get an error "file not found". I have to do ./filename to be able to access it.
Any idea ?
Thanks a lot.

thanx for the links fonz but there is a lot in there ...
Also, you say its normal but before i restarted my box I didn't have this issue ...
And note that when i hit the ins, home, pageup, pagedown, del and end key it writes a tilde (~) instead of doing what it should do !!
Could you point me some direction please ;-)
Or an easy way to put things back to their default behavior ?
Thanks again,
John

Is there an 'issue'? When you start typing 'b' and press tab, it'll show you all executable programs starting with 'b' that are in $PATH. And, of course, this inlcudes files from other directories. And when you're root, the current directory (.) is _not_ in $PATH, so you have to run ./prog instead of just prog.

well there is no really and issue appart from the home key and stuff not working anymore...
I had a hard night yesterday, the behavior i'm facing seems indeed right... I don't know why it felt so strange to me... Beer ?
The other problem is that my backupPC install stopped working after the reboot.
It seems that it was unable to find the configuration file... So i was wondering if there was a problem with path....
I'm doing a full reinstall of backupPC right now, maybe should i start a new thread ...
Thanks anyway and sorry for being such a drunkie
