Apologize for what must be a repeat post but my searches didn't pick it up and didn't see it in the how-to section of the wiki. I'm now out of space and wanted to upgrade disks to 1.5TB Seagates (or something similar). Is there a guide or instructions for this somewhere ? Is it as simple as doing two disk swaps with the larger disks ? I'd love to keep all my funplug and Slimserver setup working.

If you swap both of your disks you will have to install fun_plug in one of them again unless you are booting fun_plug from a USB drive.

Thanks, so I can power down, add one 1.5TB disk, format it and let it sync, then do the same for the other ? I don't mind re-installing fun_plug. I was just unsure if the Raid required identical disk sizes and how it would allow me to add the larger disks, give me the extra space without any other steps.

You didn't mention the disk configuration in your original post, but since your second post asks about syncing and RAID, you are presumably running a RAID configuration, and presumably RAID1.
The short answer is NO - either back up your data, install the new disks and create a RAID1 array and restore your data - or - power the unit down, remove one of the disks and install it in a PC with linux or Windows and the EXT2IFS file system driver and verify that you have access to the data. Once you know the data is accessible, remove the second disk, install the new ones and proceed as outlined earlier.
Long answer - RAID does not require identical disks, as long as the replacement disk has sufficient space the system should create a partition the same size as the existing one, format it and then sync - however, it will not utilize the additional space, it will simply be lost.
I have no doubt that with the appropriate linux & mdadm knowledge the situation could be manipulated, but, I don't have it, and if you did, you wouldn't be asking these questions - so to all intents & purposes the short answer is no.

Thanks fordem, that's what I thought.
I have a USB/eSata toaster drive enclosure. Would I be able to mount that to the DNS-323 and transfer to the new disk that way ?

ben2e - you really need to learn to use the search feature.
Out of the box, the USB port is for UPS & printers, a disk can be attached, but you'll have to do some fiddling to get it to work.
